UPDATE MARCH 2017
Since planning permission was granted in November 2015, the Rothschild Foundation has been working closely with our development partner ZeroC and other consultants in preparation to begin on site.
Work has now started with the clearance of knotweed and stockpiling top soil. We will soon construct the new site entrance which will assist with safe access during construction.
The scheme involves building seventy five new homes in Waddesdon. A commitment to quality will run through everything we do, while we aim to deliver:
• Architectural excellence and detailing in the spirit of Waddesdon.
• Longevity for the homes and landscaping that are fit for purpose and will stand the test of time.
• A sense of place created both within the development and integrated within the wider Waddesdon community.
• Building performance beyond current environmental regulations to ensure our footprint on the planet is as light as possible.
The project will be delivered in three phases: the first is the eastern side of the Golden Mede site, which will be followed by the western side, and then phase three on the Warmstone Lane site.
Throughout construction we will continue to liaise with the Parish Council and keep residents informed. We also are very happy to respond to queries via email to Edward Parsons, Waddesdon Estate Manager, on behalf of the Rothschild Foundation email@example.com or via telephone on 01296 653401.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2015 – Golden Mede Proposed Development
The planning application was presented at the Aylesbury Vale Strategic Development Management Committee on 4th November 2015. The Rothschild Foundation are delighted that the application was given unanimous support and the decision has been deferred to the Planning Officer to finalise the details of the S106 agreement and we are currently working with AVDC to finalise this early in the New year.

The Rothschild Foundation have arranged a Public Consultation with regard to a potential housing project they are considering in Waddesdon.
It comes at a time when a great many new homes are required across the Vale of Aylesbury, with an unprecedented number of planning applications in progress. There will be pressure on the Waddesdon village to expand its borders and to welcome a larger community in the coming years. Accommodating a sustainable level of growth whilst keeping the village identity is the Rothschild Foundation’s primary concern. We recognise that additional housing might not be welcome by everyone and wish to engage with the community to hear their views and how to consider the need for growth
There are two sites, Golden Mede and Warmstone Lane collectively known as “The Golden Mede”, located in the south of the village and adjacent to the Waddesdon estate where the opportunity exists, subject to all the relevant permissions, to deliver new homes.
At present these principles are indicative since this is a very early stage of a long journey to see what may be acceptable to the community, AVDC and the Rothschild Foundation.
Following the initial consultation on 17th July, the second public consultation will run from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm on Friday 21st November 2014 at the Waddesdon Village Hall. All members of the public are invited to come to view the updated proposals and to offer comments and thoughts.
The Rothschild Foundation, under the chairmanship of Lord Rothschild, supports a broad range of philanthropic activities, continuing the family’s longstanding commitment to the environment, sustainable development and green energy, arts and heritage, education and social welfare.
